I am a computer engineer, currently working as a Site Reliability Engineer at MyUnisoft. I bring solid technical expertise to my colleagues and contribute to creating a pleasant working environment.
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by computers. Although my
education is primarily in development, system administration has become
my natural area of expertise.
These two fields, usually opposed,
are combined in me and allow me to naturally understand the various
constraints of operating a production environment.
My passion for Linux led me to exclusively adopt this platform on all my personal machines, which allows me to put my system engineering skills into practice and constantly explore new technologies on my own. On a daily basis, I don't work: I have fun. (Just like this resume in man page format amuses me)
Additionally, I gained international experience through stays in Quebec
and Norway for study and work.
These opportunities helped me develop my linguistic and cultural skills,
allowing me to communicate effectively with colleagues from around the world.
--sysadmin : My passion, especially with Linux. I use distributions such as Red Hat and Debian in my daily work environment, as well as VMware for advanced server and workstation management.
=linux : I am an expert in advanced use and administration of GNU/Linux, including RedHat, ArchLinux and Debian-based systems. I have been running production systems on Debian for about ten years, and I know its internals very well (preseed system).
=vmware : I am very familiar with VMware, including HA (IHR), DRS and its rules, vSwitches, vCenter and vRops features.
=dba : I am very comfortable with database management such as MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server and Oracle. The operation of a DBMS is very intuitive to me.
=scripting : I am accustomed to scripting with Bash, Python and PowerShell. A good administrator is someone who doesn't need to do much to solve a problem.
=windows : I have the ability to manage Windows servers and workstations, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and PKI. But please, not too often.
=azure : I have a solid technical foundation in Azure AD, VNets, APIM, Application gateways and DNS management.
=xen : I have past experience with the Xcp-ng self-hosting solution, including Citrix.
=misc : I am familiar with monitoring solutions such as Centreon and Librenms. I am also capable of handling metrics solutions like Prometheus and Grafana.
--sre : The logical evolution of the aforementioned passion. Building cloud-native platforms where everything is designed so you never have to touch it again: resilient, automated, and above all maintainable.
=kubernetes : I have in-depth knowledge of Kubernetes.
architecture : Cluster design intended to be modular, malleable and reliable. Component selection based on actual needs, not trends.
operations : Management of various clusters (k3s, RKE2, OUTSCALE Kubernetes as a Service (OKS)) without overlay. Also proficient with the Rancher suite (Fleet, RKE2, Longhorn, integrated monitoring) - a complex beast, but a complex beast I know well.
deployment : Helm and Helmfile (with gotmpl templating) for declarative packaging, version management and controlled updates.
=cicd : Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD components (inputs, dynamic naming, conditional includes) for modular and reusable pipelines.
--security : I am also an enlightened enthusiast of computer security, particularly in EDR, IDS/IPS, Firewalling, Sandboxing and Honeypots.
--ai
=user : Using LLMs to boost my productivity, without delegating thinking or complexity to them. Active watch on open-source and self-hostable models, with a dedicated inference server.
=critical : Enlightened amateur of the underlying issues. Sensitive to alignment concerns, skeptical about announcements of imminent AGI, and cautious about the benefit/risk ratio sold by some players. (Also annoyed that 64 GB of RAM costs a month's minimum wage because some people want to hallucinate faster and faster.)
--webdev : I have a background as a PHP backend developer.
=backend : I have used solid back-end development skills with PHP5/7, particularly for creating a micro-library to facilitate my projects. I also worked on a larger project with Symfony3.
=frontend : There was a time when I could bend SCSS/CSS to my will. There was a time.
--developer : I was trained in development. So I know what bad code looks like :-)
=c : I have minimal skills in system, network and multithreading with the C language.
=java : I was once a Java development specialist. At Bayesia, the stack is entirely in Java (Spring Boot in particular) and I occasionally audit it.
--lang
=en : I have very good technical English. I scored 935 on the TOEIC and also hold the CLES2 certificate.
=de : I am able to use German, with basic reading/writing/listening comprehension skills.
--other
Proudly lazy: I do things right from the start, in a reusable way, so I never have to go back to them. Advocate of reliability through simplicity: "For nothing to break, there must be nothing that can break". I distrust solutions that "work by themselves": when they break (and they always break), you need to know how to fix them. Hence my daily use of ArchLinux: what I built myself, I can debug.
I appreciate all sciences and all techniques, and I am known for being sharp, dynamic and always ready to take on new challenges. I am very interested in environmental issues.
